Last month’s query 2˝ years old girl with hepatosplenomegaly, anemia and generalized lymphadenopathy had several replies suggesting histiocytosis, sarcoidosis, SLE, Wegener’s granulomatosis. However, the authors have replied that the child died before she could be investigated in those lines.

CASE REPORTS:

CONGENITAL CYTOMEGALOVIRUS INFECTION – A LATE MANIFESTATION :
Congenital CMV infection usually presents at birth with symptomatic disease.Those with asymptomatic infection may have hearing loss, mental retardation, and microcephaly later in life. We present a case of a 10 month old child who presented with convulsions and subsequently Neuroimaging showed intracranial calcifications.


CONGENITAL TOXOPLASMOSIS:
Congenital Toxoplasmosis is one of the most difficult congenital infections to diagnose. We present a case of a 2 ˝ month old child with hepatosplenomegaly, convulsions and intracranial calcifications.
