Last month’s queryof a five year old boy with fever, petechiae, gangrene at ear pinna, convulsions (once) and signs of raised ICT had several replies from the viewers. Most viewers have suggested viral hemorrhagic fever and herpes encephalitis as probable causes.

Query: A 1½ year old girl presents with frequent head drops and low grade fever since 2 months. She had measles 2 months back. On examination, she has hypertonia with brisk reflexes. After 3 days, she develops hypertension signs of raised intracranial pressure. What is the diagnosis?
Answer: SOL most likely in the posterior fossa obstructing the 4 th ventricle. A neuroimaging urgently is required to prove the diagnosis. A CT brain in this child showed a posterior fossa medulloblastoma. Discuss this case further in the section of “DISCUSSION GROUPS”.
